Things to do in and around Swanage for under a fiver
Swanage Skate Park.
Free admission. For the energetic amongst you! Still being developed but enough ramps and pipes to keep the youngsters occupied for a while! Located in King George’s Playing Field. Together with the usual swings and slides.
Swanage Market.
Free admission. Every Tuesday morning for bargains and local produce. Refreshments available. King George’s Car Park.
Durlston Country Park.
Free admission (car parking fee of £1). Beautiful walks around the countryside, along the coast to the lighthouse and to Durlston Castle itself. Or take a shortcut to the Globe; a Victorian celebration of the world.

Crabbing and Rock Pooling.
When the tide goes out, visit the Old Quay and see how many crabs you can catch – there are always buckets writhing with captured creatures trying to escape.

Swanage Pier.
40p admission per person, Take a look at the continuing renovation work on the pier, have a cup of tea and a piece of cake in the tea room and visit the museum. You can also fish from the pier if you feel so inclined!

Swanage Museum and Heritage Centre.
Located in The Square, Lower High Street, for all local history. For 10p you can follow one of three heritage trails around the town.

Blue Beach Café.
Enjoy a cup of coffee and wonderful apple cake at North Beach, Burlington Chine, whilst enjoying the sea views and the busy beach.

Chococo Chocolate Factory.
Take a look at how the award winning chocolate is made and maybe even treat yourself to a piece! Found in Commercial Road in the centre of Swanage.

Swanage Steam Railway.
For £4 per person enjoy unlimited travel on any train after 5pm or for the same price travel out on any train before 9.45am – a great way to visit Corfe Castle and no parking to worry about!

Corfe Castle Model Village.
Enjoy a walk around the model village and through the enchanted garden to find the fairies, and then have a relaxing cream tea. Adults £3, Children £1.75 under fives free.

Santa Fe Childrens’ Amusement Area.
Located next to Sandpit Field, overlooking the sea, with youngsters small fairground rides. A token system is used here.
Kirkwood Pitch & Putt.
£1 for under 8’s, £4.50 child, £5.50 (I know, 50p over the limit!) per adult. Set in beautiful surroundings with lovely views and a great welcome for all.
Hire a Deckchair on the blue award beach and relax in the sun; £2 all day, £1 after 3.15pm.
